Ça se bouscule au vendangeoir Dopff ! ;-) http://t.co/eNZB1KuZ

Born in Riquewihr in 1885, and deceased in Strasbourg in 1965, Paul Dopff is Gustave Dopff’s son, witner and trader from Riquewihr (9th generation).

He finished his studies in 1912 at the Stadtbauamt in Strasbourg after starting his studies in the Polytechnical Schools of Karlsruhe and Munich.

He was designated Strasburg’s chief architect in 1928 and also technical services director in 1948.

Jean Muller underlines in his preface to the Presentation of Mr. Dopff’s Creations : “After many years of studies and hard labor, Mr. Dopff acquired both remarquable practice and outstanding experience. His talent was able to flourish through the numerous public, educational, industrial and business buildings that he constructed”.

Indeed, Paul Dopff is the creator of numerous constructions in Strasburg in famous neighbourhoods of the city like Robertsau, Orangerie but as well Neudorf (see photo opposite).

It was then natural to give a street his name in Strasburg.

We were proud to see that our Pinot Blanc 2011 was pushed forward by numerous English journalists :

The Observer (the Guardian’s magazine) : David Williams selected 3 wines of the week, among them Pinot Blanc which he described as follows “strikes a perfect balance between roundness of texture and freshness with spicy orchard fruit”.

The Wall Street Journal Europe : Will Lyons included our wine in his summer selection presenting 16 wines of the whole planet. Enthusiast comments like “what appeals are its creamy texture and delicate nose, which has both a little nutty savor and the freshness of sliced apple. »

Wine Page : Tom Cannavan (who forms part of the famous 5 of The Wine Gang) posted on his website a very positive video which recommends our wine, “ a nice job of making a fresh, fruity, fairly full-bodied but crisp wine in the style Alsace can do so well. Aromas of apple and melon fruit [...], weight and creamy texture, [...]the citrus and apple acidity balancing [...]- and that’s where this wine excels”.

A warm thank you to these journalists for all their comments… And we invite you to discover our Pinot Blanc 2011 which would be a perfect match with YOUR summer menus !

#Riquewihr élu 6ème village préfèré des Français ! Venez nous rendre visite et goûter nos #vins !!!

Organized by the Exposition agency of Colmar and La Cave de l’Anneau, this very 1st professional trade fair devoted to Alsatian Riesling was hold on monday, 11th June 2012 at Colmar’s exposition park.

THE opportunity for all wine professionals as well as for restaurants, wine merchants, sommeliers, (french and foreign) journalists to discover more than 300 different types of Riesling from this region, presented by 56 wine producers well known for their fine products.

And for sure, Dopff Au Moulin counted among the participants and would, in no way, have missed this brandnew event ! An occasion for the Estate to present a “vertical tasting” of her Riesling Grand Cru Schoenenbourg: one of her flagship-wines.

Wine years 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 as well as Schoenenbourg Late Wine of 2004 : one wine as complex as the other, expressing different ranges of aromas, and the visitors came to discover the evolution of these exceptional Grand Cru wine.

On the spot, Etienne Arnaud DOPFF, Wilfrid Wetta (left), Mylène Ludwig (center) and Emile Kuntz (right) shared moments of interesting exchange with their Alsatian competitors and colleagues, but also with the numerous visitors assisting to this first edition !

May this trade fair know a long-term success !

From 31 May to 2 June 2012, the 7 French Crémant appellations as well as their Luxembourg equivalent had appointment in Alsace – to be precise, at Riquewihr and at Scherwiller – for the 22th edition of Concours National des Crémants.

The highlights of this competition : on 1st June, tasting of the presented samples at Scherwiller, press presentation in Château de la Confrérie St Etienne of Kientzheim and gala dinner at “Paradis des Sources” at Soultzmatt, with announcement of the results and tasting of all the prizewinning Crémants. Enjoy the video

For the whole DOPFF family these have been wonderful moments rich in emotion !

We underline the presence of Mr Pierre DOPFF who has been acclaimed and applauded for a long time, a recognition of his work and involvement into Crémant-World … And great emotions when we received

four golden, and two silver medals for our Cuvée Julien Brut, Wild Brut and Chardonnay Brut crémants.

An excellent recognition that we owe to the experience and know-how acquired during so many years, but also to the efforts of our whole staff and the current DOPFF family, allowing us to remain in the line of great Crémants of France.

Do not hesitate any longer, but come to Riquewihr for a tasting of these Crémants in our Caveau, or just order them in our online-store !
